Our client is an internationally oriented, medium sized company that designs and builds systems for the offshore market, with a focus on the renewable sector (Offshore Wind). The company supplies turnkey systems for safe transfer of personnel and cargo for worldwide offshore operations. Through the unique combination of the inhouse design and engineering expertise, production facilities, testing capacity, worldwide installation and service, constantly challenges the technical possibilities, with approximately 160 employees who are given the opportunity to grow with the developments of the company.

Who are we looking for?

Currently, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional to join our team as a Sales Manager in Drachten, the Netherlands.

This business-to-business sales professional should be able to prospect target accounts for new business relations and maintain existing contacts as well as work with partners in the existing network and beyond.

Responsibilities & Essential duties

As a Sales Manager you are aware of the different sectors and networks with the aim of keeping and creating brand awareness, as well as selling products from our client product portfolio. The main responsibility for this job is acquiring orders worldwide that fit with the strategy of the organization and the objectives of the department and according to a turnover target from the annual plan.

As a Sales Manager you are in the lead of the quotation process and you are visiting clients and conferences around the globe. You are able to fill the short and long term sales funnel with the aim to close new orders. You are the first point of contact to clients and industries, as well as responsible for the representation of the brand. You are matching the product portfolio to the industry’s needs and developments. You are testing the generic product portfolio in the market and providing targeted feedback how the product range can be adapted. For new products and developments you play a decisive and essential role between clients and our design departments to make a difference in our continuous improvement.

Together with your colleagues you define pricing strategies and assist on business plans and keeping the entire organization up-to-date on sales activities.


Desired skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree (HBO/WO) Economics, Engineering or equivalent work experience in the offshore industry (min. 2 years)
  • Must be able to demonstrate sales record at a high level of achievement in a business to business environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (in English and in Dutch)
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and patterns
  • Effective communicators and motivators across multiple mediums both externally and internally and work within a team
  • Manage and forecast sales opportunities
  • Flexible and open mindset, adapting ones ideas and dealing with changes in the organization
  • Result and customer oriented
  • Frequent and worldwide travelling
